About
I was raised next to the Hasbro GI Joe factory in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, a factory town. From early on, I knew I wanted something more from life than working at a machine all day and I fell in love with entrepreneurship and business at a young age. When I had the opportunity to become a "Stock Broker" at the Wall Street firm of Dean Witter Reynolds, I jumped at the chance, in my neighborhood, only rich people had stock brokers and I wanted to meet some rich people!
After training on Wall Street, in the World Trade Center, I fell in love with everything about being a professional investment guy. I soon found myself manning a booth at a Sears Store, wedged in behind the Allstate Insurance guy and across from the television department. In the store my main job seemed to be to direct shoppers to the various departments of Sears and hand out my business cards. I was like the guy who followed the circus parade sweeping up after the elephants. Someone asked him, "Why don't you quit shoveling poop and get a better job?" He answered, "What and quit show business?" I was in the Wall Street business, albeit on the fringes.
Luckily, my career did blossom, I succeeded in my industry, along the way I worked at a local bank, a regional brokerage firm and eventually (and inevitably) founded my own firm. I love and enjoy the financial markets and the industry as much as I ever have, the concept of buying pieces of paper that might go up in value still fascinates me, I am lucky to have found an industry that I am still passionate about thirty something years later!
My firm, Latitudes Financial Strategies, is built to reflect our values. We are advocates for our clients, we believe in open and transparent fees, and we take an attitude of Servant Leadership to our clients. There is no more important phrase in our office than, "(client name) needs _____." We drop everything when that phrase is heard and get it done. We love our clients like family and believe there is no greater calling than to help them pursue their financial goals.
Lastly, who is Maggie? Maggie is our Old English Sheepdog. She is smart, funny, and full of mischief. She comes into work with me most mornings where she spends her time inspecting the office and roaming the mean streets of Windermere when she needs a break. She has filled our empty nest.
If you are looking for a firm that is experienced, professional and easy to talk to, then we are a good match. We believe that relationships are not transactions, that investment products are not as important as understanding our clients, and that investors deserve to have their money managed by people who take the time to listen to them!
